Free Medical Camp for flood affectees in Kalasha valley

Kalash 24 July: Primary People Health Initiative, PPHI , Kalash People’s Development Network, KPDN and Basic Health Unit, BHU organized free medical camps for flood Affectees in Kalasha valley Mumuret (Bumboret) and provided free medicines and check-up to the flood effected areas, on 21 July organized free medical camp at Shehkanandeh the most remote area of Kalasha valley, where 120 patients have been checked and provided free medicine and 18 child has been vaccinated .Another medical camp was organized at BHU on 22 July, where 130 patients were given free of cost medicines and 88 child has been vaccinated.

Third free medical camp was organized on 24 July at Village Anish where 125 patients were given free of cost medicine and check-up facilities. Large number of women, children, and man have been facilitated during the free medical camps in Kalasha valley Mumuret.

The Kalasha valleys are disconnected from Chitral and there is only one BHU where only one doctor is working in three narrow shaped valleys of Kalasha.

Dr. Wali Khan who supervised all medical camps said that ‘’if restoration of communication system and drinking water supply delays further the situation could be worst in Kalasha valleys’’

Remember Dr. Wali is only medical graduate from Kalasha community and since last year he is working as Medical officer at BHU Mumuret and serving the people in their hard times.
